Seasonal gardening
Your garden can benefit from attention all year. Most garden maintenance will take place from spring to frost.
Spring
We begin the season by inspecting for winter damage of lawn, shrubs, trees, driveways, walkways, and masonry areas. Perhaps a walk through with our landscape designer to review your property for suggestions.
- Bed cleaning and plant preparation – Remove winter debris, cut back winter grasses and perennials, prune roses and evergreen plants.
- Edging – Re-establish existing bed lines, to create smooth flowing lines and a crisp definition between bed and lawn.
- Fertilizer – A balanced fertilizer program will begin, plants and turf will be fed throughout the summer.
- Mulch – Applied to all beds to improve appearance and to provide nutrient and moist retention. See our mulch page for the various mulches available.
